Annual Sports Day

Playing sports offers children more than just physical benefits. Sports typically help kids academically and socially as well. The benefits are the same whether or not a child excels at a sport enough to want to take it up as a future career. Research has found that kids who play sports, especially girls, are more likely to have a positive body image and higher self-esteem. They also are less likely to be overweight. Sports helps kids develop discipline. They learn to set goals and then work to achieve those goals. They learn that by working hard they can accomplish the things that they want to in their lives. Motor skills, strategic thinking, and even maths skills are learned by playing sports. Students develop strategic thinking as they figure out plays and the best way to get around a player or score a goal. Maths skills are used as they calculate scores and stats.

The school will promote extensive sporting activities. We have our own Swimming Pool, a Football field and a Badminton Court. We will have professional coaches for Football, Cricket, Badminton, Basket Ball. Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis and Swimming.

Apeejay, as an institution has always emphasized the importance of physical fitness as evident from our various earlier ventures. The initiation of the above activities in Apeejay School Bhubaneshwar is a reiteration of our goal to impart to our children the concept - 'a healthy mind only resides in a healthy body.' Students of all classes will get equal opportunity to learn and enjoy the athletic activities. There will be inter house competitions for each of these games which will foster a healthy competition. We will also have an annual Sports day to encourage such activities in the school and showcase talents of all children. Children with special talents will be encouraged to pursue their passion by making available to them all the facilities that the school can. As an indoor Game, we will have Chess Club and Table Tennis Club.
